About Jana Heckerman
I have more than twenty-five years experience helping individuals and organizations meet their personal and business objectives. Whether I’m working with an executive striving for greater business success or with someone who is putting their life back together after completing treatment for addiction, I strive to bring clarity to each situation and provide a stimulating, supportive, and safe environment for clients to define and refine their personal and profession vision and set goals that align with that vision.
With corporate clients I apply my real-world business savvy and supportive guidance to help top performers prepare for and achieve new levels of success. I’ve instructed, mentored, enlightened, and empowered hundreds of individuals in defining new visions for themselves, including supporting them to identify and deconstruct constraining belief systems. I coach high performers to attain greater levels of success in stretch assignments and guide newly promoted managers to develop skills and strategies to succeed in new and challenging roles.
With life and recovery coaching my focus is on helping clients gain clarity about what an “ideal life” genuinely and authentically looks like. I then support and hold them accountable to create an plan to create that life. This may involve simple changes such as finding new ways to manage time and resources. Or, it may entail making significant life or career changes. Having walked the road of recovery myself, I not only understand the struggles of individuals in recovery, but I also have immense compassion and admiration for these clients.
Clients appreciate my ability to quickly grasp the essence of a situation and guide the swift identification of creative options for effectively moving forward. They tell me they admire my courage in dealing with difficult issues, my perseverance in tough situations, and my ability to encourage people to open up and communicate.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in organizational development from the University of Wyoming and graduated from the Hudson Institute in Santa Barbara. I’m a certified life coach with a passion for leadership development and working with individuals in recovery from drug or alcohol dependency. I serve on the board for three non-profit organizations and I’m a member of Recovery Coaches International the International Coach Federation.
